How It Works
Your pathway to relief
Home visits can be arranged in Mernda and selected nearby suburbs where appropriate—especially for those with reduced mobility or accessing care via My Aged Care, NDIS or DVA.
01.
Assessment
We begin by understanding your story—how your knee pain started, what makes it worse and what you want to get back to. Your physio will:
Review your history, previous injuries and any scans or reports
Assess knee range of motion, strength, balance and movement patterns (e.g. walking, stairs, squats)
Perform specific tests to differentiate joint, tendon, cartilage and patellofemoral issues
Explain the likely diagnosis and recovery outlook in clear, practical language
02.
Treatment
Your treatment plan is tailored to your knee, your life and your goals. It may include:
Targeted exercise therapy for strength, control and endurance of the hips, knees and ankles (a core treatment for knee osteoarthritis and patellofemoral pain)
Manual therapy where appropriate (joint mobilisation, soft-tissue techniques) to help reduce pain and stiffness
Balance and neuromuscular training to improve stability and reduce falls risk, especially in older adults
Activity guidance and training loads (e.g. walking, sport, gym) so you know how much to do and when to progress
Education about your condition, pain and self-management so you’re confident between sessions
For hip/knee osteoarthritis, discussion of whether the GLA:D® program is appropriate for you
03.
Progress
At follow-up visits, we:
Re-check pain levels, swelling, movement and function (stairs, walking distance, sport tasks)
Progress exercises and activity targets as your knee adapts
Provide strategies for flare-ups so you know what to do if symptoms spike
Plan your return to sport, work or higher-level activity with clear milestones
